If you have been living under a rock these past two weeks (or just haven’t been coming to Thousandaire) then you might have missed my $225 giveaway.
The contest ended last night and the winner has randomly been chosen.
I want to make the process completely transparent, so I made a little video showing you how the process works and generating a random number right in front of your eyes. I don’t actually recommend watching the video (because it’s kinda boring); I just wanted to post it to let everyone know the contest is fair and random.
And the Winner is…
Melissa!!!!!
There were a total of 387 entries in the contest, and Melissa had two of them. She subscribed to the newsletter and follows me on Twitter.
As a reminder for future contest winners, it is important to follow directions. I requested that anyone wanting additional entries post their entries in the comments. Here is Melissa’s winning entry.
I love people who are good at following directions. Melissa posted her twitter name (like I asked) so I could easily verify she was a twitter follower. Once I verified she is following me (and she is), her winnings were confirmed. She wins the big prize!
I will be contacting Melissa to ask how she’d like to receive the money. Thank you to everyone who participated, and if you didn’t win, don’t worry. We’re only a few weeks away from the next giveaway!
Next Month’s Contest
As promised, I will continue to do giveaways through the end of the year. My next giveaway will be announced at the beginning of September, and once again all newsletter subscribers are automatically entered. The main difference next month is that I’d like to give away multiple smaller prizes. I’d rather have a bunch of winners instead of just one. So make sure to enter as many ways as possible next time because you’ll have a better chance of winning!
Cheaters Never Win
I’m sure no one reading this actually cheated, but I just want to let everyone know that I had a few people subscribing to the newsletter with multiple email addresses to increase their chances of winning. I’m smarter than the average bear, and I know when people are cheating. Those people were not eligible to win and their extra emails have been removed. And no, you can’t subscribe your entire family to the newsletter to get multiple entries. One entry per household.

Eeee! This has totally made my morning. I knew my obsessive rule following would finally pay off. 🙂 Thanks so much for hosting this giveaway, Kevin! I will now begin plotting how I might put my winnings to use.
THANKS AGAIN!!
Congratulations Melissa — and congratulations Kevin on hosting such a HUGE giveaway! This is one for the history books!
Way to go Melissa! Love the transparency Kevin!
I will surely join the next contest. By the way congratulations to the winner.
