Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in America per the 2024 SFIA report. That said, a common complaint is the cost of pickleball paddles.
Some pickleball paddles can cost over $200, and that number appears to be going up and not down.
Look for Pickleball Paddle Discount Codes
In the pickleball industry, many pickleball paddle companies provide pickleball paddle discount codes that you can use to get a discounted rate.
For example, you may have an opportunity to get a paddle at $10 off, 10% off or even 15% off. JustPaddles, which is one of the largest paddle retailers, allows you to use discount codes even on used or blemished paddles, which can severely reduce the cost of your next pickleball paddle purchase.
Unfortunately, I have not seen pickleball paddle discount codes on either Temu or Amazon, which may house some of the cheapest paddles.
I know some people don’t try saving. That said, sometimes forcing yourself to save can be the best option even if you are not used to trying to save money.
Contact Retailers for Demo Paddles
When I became a pickleball paddle affiliate, the publisher stated that I could purchase discount paddles for 50% off.
These were demo paddles that people used and potentially sent back. The retailer had many models available, meaning that I could purchase an almost brand new paddle for under $50.
It doesn’t hurt to ask as the worst that the retailer can say is that it doesn’t offer demo paddles for sale at a discount.
Purchase Used Paddles
Some retailers have a purchase back program where you can purchase used paddles directly on the website.
For example, Justpaddles is one of those retailers that can provide discounted used paddles for a fraction of the cost of a new paddle.
In addition, Justpaddles also allows you to use the discount code to stack discount codes and get an even better discount.
That said, it’s important to understand that paddles have a shelf life, so you may want to understand how old the paddle is before purchasing.
Purchase Blemished Paddles
Another option is to purchase slightly blemished paddles. JustPaddles offers an entire section covering blemished paddles.
These paddles may have small issues such as grip issues or face issues. That said, these paddles are still 100% usable, and can provide a discount to a new paddle.
In addition, JustPaddles also allows you to use the discount code on blemished paddles as well, so you can essentially discount code stack.
Check Out Facebook Marketplace
Facebook groups and Facebook marketplace can also be a great resource for saving money on a pickleball paddle.
For example, Facebook has an active Pickleball Buy, Sell Trade group that boasts 47,000 members. You can find almost brand new paddles at a discount. For example, someone may purchase a 14mm or 16mm paddle, and decide that they would like to keep the 14mm.
These individuals may not be able to send back the 16mm paddle, so they opt to sell it on Facebook marketplace.
Conclusion
As someone who owns 25-50 pickleball paddles, I am always on the lookout to save money on my next pickleball paddle purchase.
Hopefully, these tips will help you purchase your next pickleball paddle at a discounted rate, even stacking discount codes.
This has helped me save money, and I hope it saves you money as well on your next pickleball paddle.
